PHOENIX—January 9, 2024—Damaging wildfires are currently raging throughout areas of Los Angeles, overwhelming local firefighters. California has declared a state of emergency and has deployed an additional 7,500 firefighting and emergency personnel to assist Los Angeles firefighters battle the blaze.


The wildfires, some of the most destructive in the history of Los Angeles, have been fueled by dry conditions and wind gusts of up to 70 mph (112 kph). Over 100,000 Los Angeles-area residents are under evacuation orders and 1.5 million people are without power. 


PuroAir is encouraging the public to join them in supporting the California Fire Foundation, which provides emotional and financial assistance to firefighters and their families. The California Fire Foundation also provides assistance to victims, survivors, and their affected communities. The foundation also offers educational assistance to the children of fallen firefighters.


Effective immediately, PuroAir will donate 15% of the proceeds from all PuroAir product sales—air purifiers, filters, and subscriptions— to the California Fire Foundation when customers use the code LAWILDFIRERELIEF during checkout. 


PuroAir has also been reaching out to local schools in the areas most severely impacted by the wildfire to donate air purifiers to be used in classrooms and other indoor school facilities, as concerns over indoor air quality will be a major concern for educators, parents, and administrators.
